I started writing music when I was 12 years old. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours both writing and producing. Nothing else has given me the feeling that writing music and producing does! Seeing someones face light up when the song that they hear in their head is made into a reality is one of the most amazing feelings.
In my sophomore year of high school, I met two of the people I now call my best friends and band-mates, Christian Boria and Gus Knudson; we formed a band called Away From Stress and started a year-long process of writing an album together. “City of Egypt” was released in August of 2017. The whole entire was such a blast and an incredible learning experience. Working together with others to create something that is better than an individual could do is indescribable.
Throughout all of high school, I was not only writing music with my band but writing solo music as well. I have dozens and dozens of songs that have never been released (though my friends know them well; Sorry!). After graduating high school, I fully realized what my conscious had already known, that music is what I wanted to do. I have committed to Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate and am beyond excited to be pursuing my dreams there; I will do everything I can to work hard and make my dream into a reality.
With this realization, I have started to post my own music. My debut album, Before I Move On, is out now! I am lucky enough to be surrounded by amazingly talented friends who have made the album something we are all proud of. Hopefully you enjoy it.
Thank you for reading this far and taking the time to learn a little more about me, Davin Kingston. I hope you enjoy the music and the journey.
